COVID-19 Message
Dear AMP Family,
We are heartbroken to let you know that late last week, we decided to postpone AMP's upcoming March show, Number Nine, at The Lab Theater. We made this decision in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and out of caution and care for the health, safety and wellbeing of our artists, patrons and community at large.
We know you understand that the first and foremost priority needs to be on the health of our community, state, country and the world. With this in mind we urge you to take care of yourselves and heed any guidelines set by local, state and national governments. Please reference the CDC and Minnesota Department of Health sites for more information.
We hope to reschedule the show for the summer and we are working in concert with The Lab to make this happen. However, it is a situation which changes dramatically everyday, and we will continue to monitor what may or may not be possible. If you have questions regarding tickets you have already purchased, please call The Lab Box Office - 612-333-7977. We would also like to thank MRAC for their administrative support and guidance during this time as things change.
This will negatively impact so many people and businesses in our community. Within this chaos, we are committed to compensating our artists for their time, work and dedication. Ticket income is 20% of AMP's annual budget. We kindly ask that if you are in the position, please support AMP with a tax-deductible donation today to help offset the financial burden this situation has created.
We never imagined being in this situation and making these decisions, but here we are. We appreciate your care and understanding. We urge you to take every precaution to be safe and healthy for everyone - please wash your hands, don't touch your face, and practice social distancing. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Kristin and I directly, through email ([email protected]).
Wishing you and your families all the best,
Joanna and Kristin

MORE ABOUT THE SHOW...
Do you feel good? (World Premiere – Kristin Howe with Spoken Word by Cole Sarar) – With a vibrant cast of five women and supported by the talented spoken word artist, Cole Sarar, Do you feel good? explores the complexity of psychological and interpersonal struggle that comes with change. Including investigations of communal and individual apathy, the cast travels through obstacles and challenges that restrict their evolutions. By allowing fear to dissolve space is created for the belief that one person, with one voice, can make change happen.
Transference (World Premiere –Joanna Lees) – Inspired by narratives, themes, and physicalities of superheroine stories, this highly-energetic work investigates how and where power resides and manifests in the body. Through a process focused on empowering movers, this cast of seven shifts with the energetic currents of the space that surrounds, connects, and supports them.
assemblage (World Premiere – Guest Artist Erinn Liebhard) – Guest choreographer Erinn Liebhard's new work assemblage is a danced ode to the delight that can be found in moving comfortably in and out of familiar units of people, driven by infectious contemporary jazz music. Liebhard enjoyed the opportunity to work with such skilled and curious contemporary/ modern dancers to encourage their abilities to access embodied groove, interaction as joy and improvisation as aliveness together in one package as a way to explore innovation on jazz music and movement ideas.
Cycles (World Premiere – Company Member, Brenna Mosser Audience Create-A-Dance) – AMP administered a public survey, giving our supporters the chance to directly affect the creative process and vote on aspects of one of our newest works. These results are the framework for a world premiere by company member Brenna Mosser. Cycles is a meditation on the night sky. Our minds wander through the landscapes that facilitate our memories of this dark space. We are confronted with how small and insignificant we are, something that is so much easier to fathom when we can see the stars. Yet, we still feel validated that we exist to fulfill our part in the cycle of space, time, gravity, or whatever else we choose to contemplate. We are small. We are essential. We are in cycles of wonder.
