We continue to rebuild from the COVID-19 pandemic and celebrate our 10th year.

Any donation gets us ONE STEP CLOSER to our goal of equitable and competitive compensation for our personnel's work. We cannot stress how impactful your contributions are for our community as we offer Spring and Summer events:
  • Choreographer Open Call (May) - We are accepting proposals from dance community members and selecting 3-4 choreographers to commission for our upcoming fall show, ViewPoints ‘22.

  • AMPLIFIED (June) - a 4 day summer workshop for professional and pre-professional artists to continue their artistic development and build community. The workshop will also create opportunities for featured guest teachers who will lead master classes.

  • Open Company Auditions (June) - We are offering an open audition, creating more professional opportunities for community dance artists.

  • Rehearsals (July - August) - We will begin rehearsing this summer for ViewPoints ‘22. Save the date October 28-30, 2022 at The Southern Theater!

  • JumpstART + Celebration for Kristin Howe (August) - We are bringing back our fundraiser event to celebrate Kristin Howe's accomplishments as Co-Director of AMP over the last decade. This will be Kristin's last AMP event acting as Co-Artistic Director and we hope you'll join us as we share more details soon.

SCHEDULE YOUR DONATION
This year, and beyond, our goals through these activities are:
  • To lead in our values in accessibility, particularly for patrons and community members affected financially by COVID-19. This includes increasing stipends for personnel and removing financial barriers for patrons.
  • To maintain and increase AMP’s presence in the dance community and the Twin Cities during the pandemic. This includes providing more community events, resources, and programs, especially for area dancers/artists.
  • To make AMP more equitable, internally within the organization and externally within our activities and focus. This includes the start of a Community Fund that is specifically allocated to improving AMP and increasing awareness regarding racial equity and justice, at large and within dance. Our statement on systemic racism can be found on our homepage.
  • To remain flexible and adaptable to the ever-changing nature of our world and resources. We will act with the utmost safety and health in mind for all involved.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO MOVE BIG?Move BIG is more than a tagline- it is AMP's philosophy. Move BIG means more than the large and virtuosic movement that Howe and Lees have been known for. Move BIG is advancing the art form of dance in any way we can. Whether it is through our choreography and performances, collaborations with other artists, engaging audience members, or education and exposure to those in need, we can come together as a community and acknowledge a purpose greater than ourselves.
