HELP US USHER AMP INTO A NEW ERA + THE NEXT DECADE!
November 1-17, 2022: Help us celebrate our 11th year and first season under the sole directorship of Joanna Lees. We need your help to reach our $10,000 goal for Give to the Max Days 2022. Every Dollar Raised WILL BE MATCHED (up to $5,000) and will directly support our efforts to empower + connect artists and audiences through contemporary dance.

Like many organizations, we are still rising to the unique challenges the pandemic has posed.
We continue to prioritize compensation for our personnel as we return to safe, indoor programming.  Your contribution also supports our efforts to expand our programs’ accessibility by adding virtual and in person offerings and financial assistance  for those in need.

  • DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT: The first $5,000 raised will be MATCHED by a wonderfully generous donor!
    $100 donation = $200 IMPACT
  • EMPLOYER MATCH PROGRAM: Find out if your employer will also match your donation to AMP - it's very easy! Simply fill out the form your employer gives you and send to AMP: 5740 36th Avenue S, Minneapolis, MN 55417.
  • PRIZES: Each hour on Give to the Max Day, Give MN will give out additional awards through random drawings of all donations transacted during the previous hour. Prizes are also given for early donations received before November 17th.

  • AMPLIFIED SUMMER WORKSHOP (Summer 2023). This 5-day workshop will invites participants to engage in various movement practices, improvisation, creative process, and repertory material.

We will continue to build upon our long term goals:
  • To lead in our values in accessibility, particularly financial and physical accessibility. This includes increasing stipends for personnel, removing financial barriers for patrons, and offering virtual events for programming to accommodate those who cannot physically attend. 81% of our budget last fiscal year went toward compensation for personnel.
  • To maintain and increase AMP’s presence in the dance community and the Twin Cities. This includes providing more community events, resources, and programs, especially for local dancers + artists.
  • To make AMP more equitable, internally within the organization and externally within our activities and focus. This includes a Community Fund that is specifically allocated to improving AMP and increasing awareness regarding racial equity and justice, at large and within dance.
  • To remain flexible and adaptable to the ever-changing nature of our world and resources. We will act with the utmost safety and health in mind for all involved.

Since 2011, some of AMP's achievements include:
  • Produced 13 full length shows & 1 film.
  • Worked with 55+ artists.
  • 3 domestic tours.
  • Created + performed 45+ new works.
  • Collaborated with numerous artists from different genres
  • Created a plethora of behind the scenes content and events that connect audiences to the work they experience in performance.
  • Supported local choreographers with 25 guest commissions, also benefiting the development of AMP's company movers.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO MOVE BIG? Move BIG is more than a tagline- it is AMP's philosophy. Move BIG means more than the large and virtuosic movement that Howe and Lees have been known for. Move BIG is advancing the art form of dance in any way we can. Whether it is through our choreography and performances, collaborations with other artists, engaging audience members, or education and exposure to those in need, we can come together as a community and acknowledge a purpose greater than ourselves.
