We are thrilled to announce that AMP has been invited to perform at the annual Midwest Regional Alternative Dance Festival in Kalamazoo, MI on March 6th! We are resetting and performing an excerpt from our 2024 show entitled, The Chosen One. The cast of 5 will travel March 5-8 to attend the festival, perform, and connect with Midwest dance artists and communities.

About the work...
The Chosen One is a haunting vignette that delves into the psychology of power, devotion, and self-erasure within a cult of personality. Featuring a cast of five, the piece centers on one “chosen” figure whose followers exhaust themselves in a relentless pursuit to keep them elevated—literally and metaphorically. Through intricate weight sharing, the ensemble sacrifices their own strength, autonomy, and well-being, as the chosen one manipulates their loyalty and tests their limits. As the group’s physical and emotional resources dwindle, all but one are left drained, disillusioned, and grounded in the aftermath of blind devotion. Performers: Kendall Edstrom, Stephanie Flanagan, Joanna Lees, Addie Smith, + Nora Sullivan |

Not all of the expenses needed to make this performance happen will be covered by the festival. Please help us close the gap and reach our goal so that we can share our work and pay our artists livable compensation for their time and talents!
Connecting through art and community is especially vital right now. If you are in a place to do so, we hope you will support our RADfest performance with a tax-deductible donation. We are hoping to raise $4,000 in the next 2.5 weeks to support and offset the expenses associated with this project. It's a particularly devastating and challenging time throughout Minnesota due to the Operation Metro Surge by DHS/ICE. We hope that you consider visiting StandWithMinnesota.com for resources on how to support our most at risk and vulnerable communities in need as well. Thank you for any and all support! |
